I have been focusing on developing my network geared towards educational technology in the elementary classroom. This has lead me to using more and more of the Google tools in my classroom. I have found several apps for use in my classroom through Twitter. I look forward to becoming a more active Twitter user in the near future. I can't wait to try my first Twitter chat. But until then I will keep developing my network to learn as much as I can from others to transform myself as a professional educator.

The Power Of A Tweet
I have recently begun using Twitter. You can follow me on twitter @jaythammel. I have been a sideline tweeter, only retweeting the things that I find interesting. “The easiest way to start contributing on Twitter is to “retweet” (Richardson & Mancabelli p 43). Following those who are associated with education and educational technology I have started to develop my Professional Learning Community online. I have been pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming amount of information that is out there.

I am brand new to Twitter and have been doing the same as you. Retweeting is a really easy way to "save" some of the great things you want to find again, because you can look in your Tweets for it...and mark it a Favorite too. You can follow me @MrsAMolitor. I am following some great presenters from the last few METC sessions I have been to. One is Kevin Honeycutt. He has great ideas for technology. I need to look for Rushton Hurley and Tammy Worcester too. They are all ed tech experts and my favorite presenters at METC.
ReplyDeleteAmy, thanks for the suggestions! Mr. Honeycutt came and spoke at one of our back to school in service days a couple years back. He was amazing and had a lot of wonderful ideas. I have a column set up on my tweetdeck following the METC14. I am excited to follow the conference on twitter!
